What decides the price of a business website in Nigeria?

The price of a business website in Nigeria depends on four things: how many pages it has, what it has to do, who writes the content, and where it is hosted.
Pages and features
A five-page site that explains what you sell and how to reach you is a small job. A site that takes bookings, payments, applications or logins is a bigger one, because every feature has to be built, tested and secured.
Decide these before you ask for a quote
- What should a visitor do on the site? Call, book, apply or pay?
- Who will write the text and supply the photos? Agencies can, but it costs more and takes longer if content is left to the end.
- Who looks after the site after launch? Updates, backups and security checks are not optional.
Ask every agency for the same list
Ask each one to itemise pages, features, hosting, handover and what happens when something breaks. Quotes are only comparable when they cover the same things.
- Pages and features included
- Hosting and domain: who owns them
- Security, backups and updates after launch
- Training and handover
- What is not included
Where cheap quotes cost more
A low price that leaves out hosting, security and maintenance usually costs more within a year, when something breaks or the site is compromised and nobody is responsible.
