The story
AFGE Local 2138 represents professional employees across the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, from the West Haven and Newington campuses to every community clinic. Its members are busy clinicians who need answers fast and need to trust that anything they send stays private. Migher World designed and built the site around that: rights explained in plain language before a member ever needs them, a confidential way to ask for help, and one place to find the contract, bylaws and forms. The site also speaks directly to Title 38 physicians and pharmacists, with an open letter from the Local's president.
The challenge
Union members searching for help are often anxious and short of time. They need to know their rights, find the right form, reach a steward without involving their employer's systems, and see that the Local is organised and active. A generic union site buries all of that.
What we did
We built a fifteen-page WordPress and Elementor site. A Know Your Rights page puts the Weingarten statement and a downloadable wallet card front and centre. A Request Assistance form lets a member describe the situation, choose their VA campus and flag a deadline, with a clear confidentiality notice and a prompt to use personal rather than work email. A resources page and searchable downloads library hold the contract, bylaws, grievance forms and rights sheets. Supporting pages cover leadership, FAQ, events, legal resources, Title 38 professionals, locations with directions, and joining the Local.
